An IT consultant was almost twice over the limit when police stopped his Range Rover in Blackpool.
Zafar Meahmood, a 34-year-old father-of-three, of St George's Road, Preston, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

Blackpool magistrates disqualified him from driving for 18 months, fined him £300 with £60 costs and ordered him to pay £15 to the victims' surcharge fund.

Prosecutor Pam Smith said that police stopped Meahmood's car on Squires Gate Lane, South Shore on June 15 at 2.30am. A breath test showed 67 micrograms of alcohol in his body – 35 is the limit.

Meahmood said he had just started his own IT business which involved travelling to people's homes to repair computers.
