Man, 20, stabbed in city attack

Police sealed off part of Preston after a man was stabbed in the arm.
A 20-year-old man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after being stabbed near to Broadgate, close to Preston Railway Station at just before midnight on Friday.

Police hunting the attacker said the man - who was with his girlfriend - was stabbed so viciously the knife went through his arm and came out the other side.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A section of grassed area was sealed off by police near Broadgate on Saturday morning as police searched for a knife.

A spokesman for Lancashire Ambulance said: "We received a call at around 11.53pm from a 20-year-old man from a phone box on Bow Lane to say he had been stabbed."

The attacker was wearing dark clothes and had blond hair.
