Lancashire takeaway worker faces deportation
A failed Chinese asylum seeker who works at a Lancaster Chinese takeaway is facing deporatation after being arrested in an immigration swoop.
The UK Border Agency mounted an operation on Wednesday August 6 at the Fired Wok on Prospect Street, Lancaster, which now faces fines of up to £10,000.
Officers checked the identity documents of workers to establish whether employees had the right to work.
The man was questioned and released on immigration bail.
A spokesman for the Border Agency said steps are being taken to remove him from the country.
Immigration Officer Steve Lynch said: "We always act on information we receive in order to crackdown on illegal working in Lancaster. This operation demonstrates how determined we are to put a stop to this practice."
