A 16-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being knocked off his pedal cycle in Lancashire.
Stephen Postance suffered serious head injuries when his bike was involved in a collision with a Renault Clio saloon car at the junction of Langdale Road and Worden Lane in Leyland at around 4.40pm on Monday.

Stephen, a first year A level student at Runshaw College in Leyland, is believed to have been on his way home when the accident happened.

He was said on Tuesday to be "stable" in the intensive care unit at the Royal Preston Hospital.

His tutor Mary Murphy said: "Stephen is a model student and the whole college is in shock at the moment.

"We are all thinking of Stephen and his family at this difficult time. We all wish Stephen a speedy and complete recovery."

Call the police on 0845 125 3545 if you witnessed the incident.
