Alternative half-term activities are on the cards for children who attend a series of wildlife and eco-days in Preston.
The Lancashire Wildlife Trusts Viking Days, held at its Environment Education Centre in Penwortham, will take children through ancient woods and teach them how real Vikings lived.

A Viking Longhouse, which was restored after being targeted by vandals in April, will provide a base for the activities.

The Education Centre is also offering bush craft and Halloween themed days, which will give parents a great alternative to standard play schemes during the holidays.

The Eco-Activity days run during the week of October 27, from 9.30am to 4pm and are is available for children aged from eight to 14, at a cost of £12 per child.

For more details, or to book a place, call the environmental education centre on 01772 751110.
