Motorist in court over road rageA man accused of a road rage incident on the motorway at Blackpool has appeared at court.
Yasin Aslama-Lanjri, 21, of Alice Square, Preston, denied driving a Renault Clio dangerously on the M55 in September last year.
He also pleaded not guilty to affray by allegedly grabbing another motorist by the throat.
The defendant was bailed to October 24 for trial by Blackpool magistrates.
Jail sentence for charity accountantAn accountant who stole more than £700,000 from charities and clients has been jailed.
Anthony Roberts, 73, above, of Tanpits Lane, Burton, near Carnforth, was given a six-year prison term after admitting six counts of theft and four counts of false accounting at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
Roberts stole money from six charities and two private clients .
Fine for smoking cabbieA cabbie who refused to pay a fixed penalty after he was caught smoking in his vehicle must now pay £315.
John Goulding was found guilty in his absence of breaching the smoking ban at Lancaster Magistrates Court.
Goulding, of Fleet Green, Lancaster, was seen smoking inside his taxi as it was parked in a bay at Belle Vue Terrace in May.
Licensing officials at Lancaster Council gave him a £50 fixed penalty notice.
