A teenage girl is fighting for her life in hospital after a horrific late-night crash.
Charlie Louise Mason, 15, of Dunoon Close, Ingol, was critically injured when the car she was travelling in left the A6 and landed on its roof on the Capitol Centre car park.

The girl, who was a rear seat passenger, suffered serious head injuries when she was thrown from the vehicle.

She was on Monday in the intensive care unit at Royal Preston Hospital.
The driver of the blue Fiat Bravo, Harry Foster, of Catforth Road, Catforth and another passenger were also taken to hospital.

The horror crash happened at 10.25pm on Sunday night on London Way.

One witness said the car smashed through a wooden fence and lost two of its wheels on impact.

Lancashire Police Insp Graham Smith said: "At this stage, it would appear that the driver of the Fiat lost control on a sweeping left hand bend whilst driving generally towards Preston.

"The vehicle's left the carriageway to the near side and landed on its roof on the car park of the Capitol Centre.

"The occupants of the vehicle have been conveyed to Royal Preston Hospital."

He said the 15-year-old received life threatening injuries and is likely to be transferred to Pendlebury Children's Hospital in Manchester.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

I saw the car on its roof, and all I can say is the driver must have been travelling at some stupid speed!

Unfortunately many cases like this see the driver (culprit in many cases) survive and his/her innocent passengers die!

Hope you pull through Charlie!
