Drug dealers caught out in the biggest raids in Preston for three years have been locked up for a total of 11 years.
The three men and one woman were among 33 people arrested and charged in March following a series of 30 raids under Operation Nimrod, an intelligence-led operation targeting drug crime across Lancashire.

Nicola Baldwin, 26, of Elm Grove, was jailed for three years for supplying heroin and cocaine.

Darren Graham, 39, of Maitland Street, was also sentenced to three years in prison for supply of heroin.

Andrew Jessop, 40, of Harrington Street in the city, was sentenced to two years and three months for supplying Class A drugs, to run concurrent to a 12-month sentence resulting from an offence back in February 2008 for affray.

David Jessop, 42, of Duke Street, was sentenced to two years six months for heroin possession.

Paul Burnett, 34, of Porter Street, was given 52 weeks suspended for two years for supplying heroin, and a 12-month supervision order and a nine-month drug rehabilitation order.

They all pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court.

Ch Supt Pete White, of Preston Police, said: "A significant proportion of people targeted pleaded guilty at their first court appearance which serves to demonstrate the impact and the success of these raids, the biggest in Preston for three years.

"This activity shows our ability to tackle those involved in drug dealing activity and hopefully reassures the community that their concerns are taken seriously."

Also among the targets were six juveniles, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who were dealt with at Preston Youth Court.

A 17-year-old was given 80 hours community service and 12 months supervision.

Another 17-year-old was given a community order of 100 hours and 12 months supervision.

A 16-year-old was handed 70 hours community service and 12 months probation with a curfew between 7am and 7pm.

Two other 16-year-olds were given 40 hours community service and 100 hours community service.

Around a third of the people charged during the operation, which involved months of evidence-gathering on alleged drug dealing, have now been dealt with.

Warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act on people suspected of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs in the street or public places, rather than in houses or prearranged appointments - with 125 drugs charges imposed.

Anyone with any information relating to drugs can call 01772 203203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Good bye bag heads, don't come back and sell your evil drugs again. These simpletons have not been given long enough in prison. 10 years each would have been more like it. Soft judges need wheeling off to the old folks home and appoint judges that will throw the book at these evil dealers.

well there is a surprise
yet again paul burnett gets away with dealing drugs
look at his sentance......much less for supplying it than other guy got for possesing it
yet again paul burnett gives police info and is allowed to stay on the streets dealing drugs
when wil the police and courts stop taking the easy option for their info and put scum like paul burnett in jail
hes been getting away with selling heroine for over 14 years now
every time hes caught he pleads a deal grasses other dealers up and stays out of jail lol glad he left leyland and is now prestons problem
good on you preston courts and police yet again you let him walk free to sell drugs to 13 year old children pat yourselves on the back why dont you good job you have made your arrest figures look good once again :p

Lets take a closer look at the courts rather than the police as its the stupid rug wearing fools behind a big bench and the donkeys who are being paid by us fools with tax payers money to defend these sewer rats and keep them on the streets. If their homes was being robbed by the scum would they still give them a soft stint behind bars i think not, lets flood the country with cheap drugs and let them od as no one forces them to get stoned !!!

I would like LEP to know one thing.

Andrew Jessop was done for Affray in Febuary 2008 for an offence back in March 2007.

He was done for affray after i called the police after he voilently attacked me on the day of his sisters untimely death. I knew his sister back then, but not him. we only met by chance while friends of his sister where drinking to celebrate her life.

He had no remorse for his sisters death, none for attacking me (which he was high on heroine at the time) and certainly won't be feeling any guilt about this drug raid.

For obvious reasons I hate him, even the sound of his name makes me mad. I can't imagine a worse human being in the entire world.

They should lock him up and throw away the key for both him and his brother.

But that wont happen because like febuary past, the law wont take into account the assult he did on me. They just shrugged it of as common assult. yeah right. My entire face was bruised, had cuts over my face and neck, upper lip was bust, large foot sized bruises over my chest and back, and about 2 hours of memory missing.

I have no faith in the law. It allows people like Jessop to continue killing our society.
