The family of a young Preston man killed in a car crash close to his home have paid tribute to their football-mad son.
Brendan Millar, 23, of Francis Street in Ashton, suffered serious head injuries when the Citroen Saxo he was driving collided with a Vauxhall Vectra at the junction of Tulketh Brow and Tom Benson Way late on Tuesday.

Mr Millar was cut free from the car by firefighters and was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Mr Millar's father said: "The whole family is devastated by Brendan's tragic death.

"Brendan was a keen footballer and an avid Liverpool FC fan.

"He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and work colleagues."

A woman and her partner who were travelling in the Vectra suffered minor injuries.
