Detectives hunting a gang of armed robbers have issued a picture of a man wanted in connection with the daylight cash machine raid in Lancashire.
Two men threatened security guards with a gun as they loaded a cashpoint at the Tesco Express store in Fulwood at 11.25am on Friday.
When the Group Four Securicor van pulled up at the cashpoint, in Longsands Lane, armed robbers who had been hiding behind a fence knocked a panel down with a sledgehammer before escaping with "tens of thousands of pounds" in cash.
A stolen Lancashire County Council van used in the robbery was later found abandoned in Midgery Lane, close to Asda and empty cash cassettes were found dumped nearby.
Police now believe a man seen acting suspiciously in the area the day before the robbery may be linked to the raid.
He was seen outside Longsands Primary School, Longsands Lane at 1pm on Thursday with two other men.
The man is described as aged between 30-40 years old, stocky build, 5ft 10in, dark wavy hair and wearing a high-visibility jacket.
Call Preston Police on 01772 203203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
