A deep sea diver who continued to harass his former partner and her family only days after he was sentenced in court has been jailed.
David Isbister bought a flat in Fulwood near where the family of his former lover lived and was seen staring through the window of her sister's home just days after receiving a suspended prison term.
Richard Metcalf, prosecuting, said that 10 days
after receiving the suspended jail term for harassment, Isbister followed the sister of his ex-partner "bumper to bumper" in a car on Eastway, Fulwood.
Earlier he had confronted his former partner in Squires nightclub and grabbed her around the throat.
He then sent text messages and told her he would kill her.
For those matters which he admitted, he received a suspended prison sentence of four months last October.
Isbister, 46, now of Broadway, Fleetwood, denied the second harassment.
He was convicted by magistrates and was sent to Preston Crown Court for sentence.
Rachel Faux, defending, said he was experiencing difficulties with his former partner over access to their child.
Judge Norman Wright said there had to be an immediate sentence because harrassment often involved "power politics and physiological dominance" over the victims.
He sentenced Isbister to a total of five months in prison.
The judge also passed a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting his former partner in person or through her family.
