Police stormed a house in a bid to root out a suspected cannabis farm in Lancashire.
Officers raided the address at Three Nooks, Clayton Brook, near Preston, at around 9am Monday and found 80 cannabis plants with a sophisticated hydroponic set-up.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and is now in custody.

Neighbours reported seeing a police riot van and several officers in protective clothing.

Resident, Craig Williams, said: "We don't live in the best neighbourhood in the world but we never expected this to happen.

"However, it is reassuring the police are keeping us informed of what's going on.

"Neighbourhood police have been on patrol since the raid happened."

A police spokesman confirmed that a "drying room" and hydroponic equipment had been found at the house.

Inspector Jo Keay, geographic commander for the Coppull and Wheelton areas said: "This sends out a strong message to those that engage in this kind of behaviour that it will not be tolerated.

"A quantity of plants were recovered from the address and analysis is underway to determine the exact street value.

"I would really encourage people that if they know something about drugs in their community they should do something about it."
