A Preston singer is taking the lyrics of Dolly Parton's song Nine to Five to heart as she bids to become the finest country act in the land.
Donna Murphy, 30, has been building her reputation as a top country singer over the last 15 years, performing in front of crowds of 20,000.
But she is hoping to top it all by winning the best female section in the British Country Music Awards.
Under the stage name Donna Wylde, she has starred in some of the country's biggest festivals, including the Americana Festival and Wolvestock in Wolverhampton.
She is hoping Preston's music fans will help her realise her dream by giving her their vote.
She said: "I have been nominated before but I have never made the shortlist – this is the first time I have been in the running.
"It is one of my ambitions and it would be the ultimate accolade – I have put a lot into it."
Donna was inspired to become a country singer at the age of 15 thanks to her family influences and a chance encounter with a star.
She said: "My dad is Irish and we have always had Irish country music around – then I got friendly with Daniel O'Donnell.
"I used to go to shows aged six or seven and met him and he started giving me advice.
"He still checks up on me now and he is one of my inspirations."
