Health bosses should have a "full, frank and transparent debate" before deciding whether to put fluoride in water supplies in South Ribble, a panel of councillors has said.
The Community Watchdog Scrutiny Committee of South Ribble Council has warned the Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust it must tell the public the pros and cons of adding fluoride to water.

The chemical has been added to water in some parts of the country since 1964 and it is proven to improve dental hygiene, but some people oppose the idea and fear it may have health implications.

Committee spokesman Linda Williams said: "They must present the public with an impartial account from both sides of the argument to have an informed debate about the issue."

The council passed the proposal unanimously at a meeting on Wednesday July 16 and a copy will now be sent to the PCT which is carrying out an Oral Health Strategy Consultation looking at a range of dental issues, including fluoridation.

Fluoridation is a failed theory as all current research proves no measurable benefit from ingestion of fluoride. The FDA has never once reviewed or approved any ingested fluoride product ever but two years and a lawsuit to admit it to a congressman in 1993.They claim 3200 studies proving its value but the 2000 York review discover not a single one was of high quality and bias unlikely. Of the poor quality and bias by design studies no more then a 15% reduction in cavities at the most or it could have been a slight increase in cavities(Remember poor quality). Also they could not prove safety. The review showed fluoridation does increase damaged enamel of dental fluorosis from 15% with a triple score of 48% with 12.5% being ugly enough as for cosmetic restoration. This is what is seen as the other health risks lie within your body.
The product used for fluoridation in 92% or the time is as a favor to industrial lobby raw smokestack scrubber contaminated fluoride rich waste. This witches brew of 20 plus toxins has never had a single chronic safety or benefit study as they assumed it would be exactly like natural calcium fluoride which they do admit is at least 25 times less toxic for killing rats on the LD50 scale. As a matter of fact the FDA did grandfather in ingested fluoride as a unapproved new product because it was used prior to 1938 as an effective rat killer as they could find no human use to grandfather it in the legal way. Government will work very hard to benefit it friends. Is government your friend. Congressman John Kelly of New Jersery asked the questions because of two state studies showing H2SiF6 increased bone cancers in young boys by a factor of 5 to 7. This was also shown in a large rat study before the government altered all the data and fired the head toxicologist for speaking out to the fraud. He was fired and later reinstated. In 2005 11 EPA professional unions asked congress for immediate halt to fluoridation but they did not listen about that c

See fluoridealert.org or waterloowatch.com or sever of the excellent UK sites or just google fluoride danagers and look at any of the many. I use the ones I know get it right and have excellent researcher videos. Jim Schultz The very long first post was cut short. so this followed with sites for verification of facts. Do not trust the usually reliable people as in the US the Indiana study by Yoder K.M. proved only 17% of dentists understood the new science on fluoride. In Illinois only 14% . Also only 15% of dentists in the US are against fluoridation--Maybe because on about 15% understand how it has no ingested benefit and it is not strong enough at 1ppm to have a measurable benefit either. Toothpaste is but most young kids swallow so much it damages more then benefits. Just the science please. Jim Schultz
