A "ride-by" supplier who cycled to drug deals is beginning a two year prison sentence.
Stephen Murphy was stopped by police as he rode on Central Drive, Buckshaw Village, Chorley.

Preston Crown Court prosecutor Duncan Birrell said Murphy was found with heroin with a street value of about £100.

He confessed to police straight away and said he was selling the drug to pay off a £1,500 amphetamine debt which he had built up.

Murphy, 41, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply.

On his behalf, Edmund Haygarth told the court: "He has been totally frank with police. He foolishly decided the only way he could pay for his amphetamine use was to sell heroin to other known addicts."

Judge Bruce Macmillan said there had to be an immediate prison sentence for an offence which involved an intention to sell Class A drugs on the streets.

I could point out to police two drug dealers who cycle and wander the streets of Preston dealing their filth. But the CCTV must already see what I see but they do nothing. If I rang the police they would ask if I saw any drugs, and if I say no, they'll just say they can't do anything then.

This man should never have been jailed. People who like taking drugs should be able to buy their drugs. So what? Who truly cares?
Personally I don't think you can trust anyone who has not taken drugs. Non drug takers probably like gods and that
