Homeowner chases away burglars
A homeowner chased away burglars who broke into a house on Shuttlingfields Lane, Hoghton.
The thieves stole computer equipment, a handbag, jewellery and mobile phones.
Some of the loot was scattered on the floor as they ran away.

Car is stolen by burglars
Intruders stole a silver Volkwagen, registration number PK55 NUF, after getting into a house through an unlocked side door.
The thieves, who found the keys, also stole a black handbag containing £15, a black Nokia 2760 and blue Nokia 2310 mobile phone from the house in Foregate, Fulwood, Preston.
It happened between 11.45pm on September 2 and 3.40am on September 3.

Charges over arson
A man has been charged with arson after a house fire in Ribbleton.
Peter Redhead, 32, of Grange Avenue, Ribbleton, is charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
A woman, 50, was forced to jump from a first floor window to escape the fire at her home in Lauderdale Road on August 11.
Her husband, 57, was rescued by firefighters and their son, 19, was led to safety by a neighbour.
The woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after injuring herself.

Appeal after city mugging
Police today appealed for information after a man was assaulted and robbed.
The man was walking home from Preston city centre after failing to get a taxi at around 12.50am on Wednesday.
In St Mary's Street he was struck on the back of the head with an object and was knocked unconscious.
The victim woke up in the middle of the road to find his wallet and mobile phone had been stolen.
