Student of a Preston college are set to star on TV.
The trio will be seen in an ITV advertising campaign between top shows including The Bill, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

The ad, which promotes modern apprenticeships, was filmed at Preston College's Fulwood campus.

Students Victoria Snook, Matthew Latham and Faiz Patel took starring roles.

Victoria, 19, of Ashton has just completed a hairdressing apprenticeship and recently won a national achievement prize at the 2008 Apprentice Awards.

She said: "I was nervous at first because I had never done anything like this before.

"The production team were very supportive and it was an exciting experience – I can't wait to see how it looks. The ad comes out in September."

Faiz, 17, from Deepdale, won best overall performance award at the Preston College student awards last month. He completed a diploma in carpentry and joinery last year, will start a full apprenticeship in September and hopes one day to run his own business.

Matthew, 19, from Hesketh Bank, has just finished the second year of an apprenticeship in vehicle mechanics, with the J Cheetham and Sons car dealership in Tarleton. He was recently named Apprentice of the Year by the college.

Chris Horsfall, director at One Box, said: "We are working closely with Preston College to produce a commercial that will enhance their apprenticeships campaign.

"We're using a combination of real life acting and some complex graphic effects to achieve an inspiring, eye-catching end result."

The college designed and made the high-profile campaign in conjunction with Preston-based media agency One Box Productions and the apprenticeships scheme from the Learning and Skills Council.

It is rolled out across the region on ITV in September.
