A charity worker has been extradited to Albania accused of sexually abusing young orphans.
Dino Christodoulou faces up to 20 years behind bars if he is convicted.

The former worker at the International Aid Trust in Much Hoole, near Preston, accused of raping six youngsters at an orphanage in Tirana in 2004.

Albanian officials took Mr Christodoulou, from Blackburn, into custody on Friday and he arrived in the capital the following day, a Home Office spokesman said.

He was arrested last October following an investigation launched in 2006 after allegations made by six orphans aged between six and 13.

He and a Norfolk man were working as helpers at the His Children' refuge at the time of the alleged incidents.

Reports from Albania say the orphanage was home to 50 children living in squalor. It has now been closed down.

Rev Bernard Cocker from the International Aid Trust was unavailable for comment.
