A man has been charged with dangerous driving following a police chase through a Preston park.
Karl Sumner, 24, of Greenlands Crescent, Ribbleton, was arrested in Brookfield Park in the early hours of Sunday.

He has also been charged with drink-driving and unauthorised taking of a Vauxhall Astra.

He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on July 28.

Police officers in a patrol car followed the Vauxhall Astra after it failed to stop in Cromwell Road, Brookfield, at 1.15am.

The vehicle went down Hamilton Road and into Brookfield Park, chased by three police cars.

Three passengers were traced and interviewed and later released without charge.

No police officers were injured in the incident.
