This is the moment two men take photographs close to a Preston cash machine which was the target of armed robbers.
The men, both wearing high visibility jackets, were seen snapping images of the car park of Tesco Express off Longsands Lane, Fulwood, at 1pm the day before the robbery which happened on Friday October 3.

The duo, who appear to be workmen, were caught on CCTV close to the nearby primary school and appear to be taking pictures of the area near the ATM which was struck when two men - also in fluorescent yellow jackets.

The robbers struck at 11.25am on Friday and used a gun and sledgehammer to threaten two security guards making a delivery to the machine.

Det Insp Keith Lee, investigating the robbery, said: "Workmen were seen near to the Medical Centre by staff from Longsands School about 1pm on the day prior to the robbery. They may be legitimate but they may also be part of the gang doing a recce.

"We would like to appeal for anyone who knows them to get in touch, or for the men themselves to get in touch so they can be ruled out of the investigation."

The robbers, who got away with tens of thousands of pounds from outside the Tesco Express in Longsands Lane, are still on the run.

They used a Lancashire County Council van stolen from Burnley to get away from the scene but it was later found dumped in Midgery Lane.

Police have found four cash cassettes stolen from the scene, but all the money, except a single £10 note, was stolen.

Anyone with information should call Preston Police on 01772 203203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
