A man needed five staples in his head after a group of yobs stormed into a Preston house and hit him with a blunt object.
The 23-year-old Ingol man, who was at a female friends house on Sylvancroft, Tanterton, Preston, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with a six inch gash to the back of his head, following the assault at 10.40pm yesterday (WED).

On Thursday detectives were investigating the assault and had arrested two 16-year-old boys.
But Det Insp Ian Dawson, heading the probe, has appealed to anyone in the area at the time to come forward.

Det Insp Dawson said: "It was an unprovoked nasty attack. We suspect more people may be involved.
"We know a group of people were outside the house and asked to speak to the female occupant. When she came out they ran into the house and attacked the man.
"We are progressing our inquiries today."

Anyone with information should call Preston Police on 01772 203203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
