Hundreds of runners took to the streets for two runs in aid of a Lancashire school.
More than 500 athletes took on a 10k and a fun run in Garstang to raise cash for Garstang Community Academy.
Geoff Markland, the academy’s community and marketing co-ordinator, said: “It is a very, very popular event, part of the runners’ calendar. It is the biggest community event we hold here and the biggest fundraiser in the year.” Race organiser Shoestring donated more than £1,900 to the school from race proceeds. The Parents and Staff Association organised the refreshments and brought in £530.
Mr Markland said the funds from the race usually went to the sports department to help with new equipment.
Race winner was Jon Fletcher, of Border Harriers, in 33 minutes and one second, with Robert Anthony Danson, of Wesham RR, coming in second in a time of 33 minutes and nine seconds.
