10 held after more drug raids

Ten people have been arrested on suspicion of dealing 'Class A' drugs as Operation Nimrod strikes continue in Preston.
Four arrests were made in dawn raids across the Lancashire city on Thursday, followed by six further arrests during the day.

It brings the total number of arrests to 19.

A 17-year-old boy, a man aged 18, and two 28-year-old men were arrested at addresses on Bow Lane, off Fishergate, St George's Road, Deepdale, Duke Street, Avenham, and Frome Street, Ribbleton.

Two women aged 37 and 20 were also arrested at an address on Stocks Road, Ashton.

Two 19-year-olds, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested from the Avenham area of the city following dawn raids on four properties.

It follows the first Operation Nimrod strike in Preston on Tuesday morning.

Officers from across Lancashire, including support unit officers, dog patrols, and CID, have taken part in the operation.

Ch Supt Pete White, divisional commander at central division, said: "We are committed to taking Class A drugs off our streets and the message to drug dealers is simple: seek treatment or we could be knocking down your door next."
