Sylvia Needham
A surgery receptionist said goodbye to friends and colleagues after retiring from her job of 33 years.

Preston College Chef's Academy
The icing is definitely on the cake for a group of Preston students who baked their way to success at a national sugarcraft competition.
Preston College enjoyed sweet success when the seven scholars competed in the British Sugarcraft Guild competition in Birmingham.
The Fulwood institution was represented by six students from the Chef's Academy and one from the A-level centre, who produced entries ranging from floral arrangements made in sugarpaste to the gold award winning novelty pink dragon cake.
Vicki Watson, took gold and trophy for best in class, while Dan Adshead scooped bronze award. Vicki is planning to auction off her winning pink dragon cake at the college to raise money for Sunny Bank Day Centre in Kirkham for people with disabilities.
Nadia Friedman, Clare O'Hara and Korrin Franklin were highly commended. Alex Gornall was commended.
Sandra Grice, creative craft/patisserie lecturer at the college, won both gold and silver awards at The Sugarcraft and Cake Decoration Show last year.
She said: "I am extremely proud of them all. Their dedication and hard work from the very beginning was excellent."

Lancaster Royal Grammar School
Lancaster Royal Grammar School swam into the record book when they made an historic clean sweep at the Lancaster and District Inter-Schools Swimming Gala.
The boys won all the age group competitions at the event, at Salt Ayre. It is the first time in more than 20 years that a local school has won all the trophies in the boy's section of this annual event.
The teams were: Under-12s – Alasdair Fairhurst, Sam McIlwaine, Luke Saul, Josh Hillis, Freddie Carter and Tim Hendry.
Under-13s – Phillip Mason, Oliver Gent, Matthew Robinson, Andrew Burch, Joe Hayhurst, Sam Foley, Oliver Jacques and Charlie Robb.
Under-14s – Adam Bateson, Beau Smith, Elliot Trafford, Liam McGuinness, Bill Timpany and Tom Diamond.
Under-15s – John Rainford, Stephen Dufton, Jack Brown, Matthew Eardley, Laurence Daykin and Joe Barton.
