Community groups in Lancaster have been handed a share of £10,000.
Lancaster City Council has split the sum among 39 organisations which exist to promote voluntary work in the community.
The biggest donation was £500 to both Samaritans of Lancaster and District and Church Nightshelter for the Homeless.
Coun David Kerr, cabinet member with responsibility for the voluntary sector said: "I am delighted that we have been able to help so many groups.
"The amounts of money we have been able to allocate may seem small but for many of the organisations even the smallest sums can make a difference.
"I would like to thank everyone that applied for their continued dedication."
