Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has had a £10m offer for Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko knocked back by Spartak Moscow.
The Daily Mirror claims that Pavyuchenko, and Spurs, were keen - but Spartak were not willing to sell to a club that they didn't consider as a step up for the star who was one of the stars of Euro 2008.

The club's general director Sergei Shavlo declared: " We have had two offers. One is from an English team.

"Since it's not a team playing in the Champions League we are more likely than not to reject their offer."

Meanwhile, Leyton Orient have signed Spurs striker Simon Dawkins, 20, on a six-month loan deal.

This follows the departure of youngster Joe Martin to Blackpool on a two-year-deal.
