Hull City target Fraizer Campbell intends to stay put and add to his Manchester United first team stats following his senior bow against Newcastle United last Sunday.
The Yorkshire lad celebrates his 21st birthday next month and hopes he can now get a foothold in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans.

"I hope to get more chances so I am sticking around for a bit," said the Huddersfield-born striker. That `sticking around' pledge will be a blow for Premiership newcomers Hull City's boss Phil Brown.

Campbell's 19 goals were instrumental in the Tigers winning promotion last season when he was on loan from Old Trafford and Brown wants him back at the KC Stadium.

"Sir Alex Ferguson knows my intentions and knows where we stand as far as Fraizer is concerned and, hopefully, it is in the same ball park as him," says Brown.

But Campbell competently answered Fergie's SOS call against the Geordies when Carlos Tevez was forced to pull out of the match.

Campbell, who is seeking to become the first out-and-out striker United have produced since the 1980s era of Mark Hughes and Norman Whiteside, could have marked his starting debut with a goal but Newcastle keeper Shay Given denied him twice.

"I can't put it into words what it was like to start in front of 76,000 at Old Trafford.

"It is what I have been working for since I joined the club," he said.

"Obviously on your debut you want everything to go well. I didn't think we got the result we deserved but I did really enjoy myself. Shay Given tried his best to upset me but I still enjoyed it.

"The header happened so quickly. I just headed it and I didn't see where it hit him, but some people say it hit him in the face. That's the way it goes."

Campbell partnered £30m England forward Wayne Rooney for the first time in a new look United strike force.

"Playing with Wayne Rooney is the same as any partnership. You have to learn about each other's game," Campbell added.

"I have to learn about his game and he has to learn about mine.
Hopefully I will get a few more chances to play with him."
