Everton are said to be leading the race with Manchester City to sign Brazilian striker Jo from CSKA Moscow, according to reports.
Toffees' boss David Moyes is believed to have been in talks with the player's agents and hopes to pull off the swoop this summer.
The Daily Mirror reports that Jo, 21, is part-owned by Kia Joorabchian's group and there is a chance Everton could 'hire' him for a year or buy him outright.
City have been trying to sign Jo for months, but the unrest at Eastlands has given the chance for Moyes to step in.
