After playing more than 200 shows and selling over a million copies of their critically-acclaimed debut album, Twelve Stops And Home, The Feeling landed at the Guild Hall for the first time at last.
Four hit singles from that album,(Sewn, Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely and Love It When You Call) helped the band to become the most played act on British radio in 2006 – receiving an astonishing 267spins a day.
Now with their latest album
, Join With Us, the band hope to repeat that storming success. Coming off the back of their "longest tour yet" around Europe, The Feeling's lead singer, Dan Gillespie Sells, is one of very few singers who can pull off live vocals.
And although most of the seats were empty, it was only because he and the band had everyone in front of the stage singing along.
Now working on their as yet untitled third album, a sneak preview of a track, only played to audiences of this tour, sounded as familiar as one of the many previous hit singles from the past few years.
The Feeling are a band that can be enjoyed by the masses.
Last night's audience was made up of teenyboppers screaming their undying love for their favourite band member at the front of the stage, plus more mature couples taking it all in at the back.
With covers of Kraftwerk and The Buggles numbers, the fab five made sure they covered all areas surrounding their familiar pop/rock sound and to top it off a stagedive was included!
As the evening came to an end I realised that this band had had more hits than I thought.
Just make sure that third album is on your wishlist – "The Truth Comes Out When The Drink Goes In", is sure to earn them more than enough airtime!
