Rhys accused declines to offer evidence

The alleged killer in the Rhys Jones murder trial declined to offer any evidence today, a court heard.
Sean Mercer, 18, chose not to go in the witness box, said his barrister, Richard Pratt QC.

The trial judge, Mr Justice Irwin, told his barrister Richard Pratt QC: "I am sure you will have advised him fully about the implications of that."
