Pensioner killed in hit-and-run

A 78-year-old man has been killed in a hit-and-run road accident in Whiston.
The pensioner, who was on foot, was hit by a dark vehicle on Cumber Lane.

Officers are making house-to-house inquiries to speak to residents near the scene.
