Jurors at Manchester Crown Court have heard evidence from the mother of a girl who was allegedly beaten to death by a 15-year-old boy last year.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denies murdering two-year-old Demi Mahon on July 17 2008.

The child's mother, Ann Marie McDonald, sobbed as she gave evidence in court.

Howard Bentham QC, prosecuting, told the court the defendant inflicted 68 injuries and a bite mark on the child.
