A man has been stabbed outside his Manchester home in an unprovoked attack as he was about to enter his car.
The 58-year-old was approached on Hannet Road, Woodhouse Park, by a man asking for a cigarette.
When he refused, the attacker pulled out a small kitchen knife and slashed the victim in the hand and then plunged the knife into his stomach.
