Music par excellence from a group of musicians keeping alive the music of one of the best bands ever.

The support act was… well, 10CC actually, as four of the five members of the band performed an acoustic set featuring original member Graham Gouldman's hits written for others.

We had Bus Stop (The Hollies), For Your Love (The Yardbirds), No Milk Today (Hermans Hermits) and Pamela Pamela (Wayne Fontana) among others.

Then it was the main event.

In their day, 10CC, a quartet from Manchester and Stockport, produced some of the best music the pop world has heard and performing it live was always a problem as the vocals were multi-layered and the vocal harmonies were lush.

But in the hands (and voices) of these guys, the music came alive as never before as we were treated to a catalogue of hits.

Starting with The Wall Street Shuffle and ending 17 songs later with Rubber Bullets we got it all.

Well, almost.

One notable exception, and just the only hit that wasn't played, was Life Is A Minestrone.

Good Morning Judge, I'm Mandy Fly Me and The Dean And I were all performed flawlessly.

Art For Art's Sake was enhanced by an intro that owed much to Pink Floyd, and the updated telephone effect on Donna always raises a smile.

The three chart-toppers, I'm Not In Love, Dreadlock Holiday and Rubber Bullets came towards the end and of course brought the house down; especially the latter which had the crowd on their feet (after a little prompting).

The lighting was simple but effective, but we were there for an evening of great music.

And we got it. In spades.
