Preston’s top-rated curry houses are encouraging diners to spice up their lives and celebrate National Curry Week.
From vegetarian specialities to sea bass sensations and a fusion of spices and flavours, two of Preston’s most popular curry restaurants are urging people to treat their taste buds to something new.
Bangla Fusion, on Liverpool Old Road, Hoole, is rated in the top five local curry houses on review website, Trip Advisor.
Tops Monshur from the restaurant says that curry is no longer just about larger and late nights.
He urged people not to be scared of the spice and give different dishes a go.
He said: “People are now realising that curry is not all about how hot it is but the flavours.
“The curry industry has been revolutionised over the last few years.
“It used to be about have a few pints of lager and visiting a curry house after 8pm when we first started around 13-14 years ago.
“It used to be a late night thing. But it has moved away from that now everybody wants to eat between 6pm and 8pm now.
“We have seen the changes and a lot of people are starting to be more adventurous now, there is a lot more people willing to try things and I hope everyone embraces National Curry Week and tries something new.”
Bangla Fusion, the Silk Route on Strand Road, Preston, RK Sweets on Plungington Road, Preston, Sylhet Bangla on Liverpool Road, Hutton, and Sangam Balti House on Hope Terrace, Lostock Hall, top the Trip Advisor charts for curry restaurants in Preston.
The five eateries earned a rating of 4.5 out of 5 on the review website and Ramila Parekh from RK Sweets says it is nice to be recognised by customers.
She said: “All our dishes are vegetarian. That is the way we have run our business since 1997.
“What we make here you would never get in restaurants it is totally different.
“It means quite a lot that people recommend us, there are some really good comments on Trip Advisor and it does mean a lot.”
