Calling all Zombies. The living dead or just plain old horror film fans are invited to attend a free advance screening of a new BBC show.
Zombie drama In the Flesh will star Ricky Tomlinson and up-and-coming actor Luke Newberry.
But an advanced screening of the new BBC3 show will take place at Salford University – and the public are welcome to come dressed in full horror attire.
The public are invited to the Thursday, March 7, screening at the university’s MediaCityUK campus, where they can also quiz writer Dominic
Mitchell and director Jonny Campbell, whose credits include Doctor Who and Ashes to Ashes.
Organiser Jennifer Tuckett, from the university, said: “It is fantastic to build on our
partnership with BBC Writers-room and we look forward to working closely with them to bring in some of the most exciting writers working for the BBC over the next few months.”
Set in the fictional village of Roarton, the programme tells the story of teenage zombie Kieren Walker and his reintegration into the local community.
The event is the first in a series of MediaCity Masterclasses offering aspiring writers the chance to learn from BBC professionals working in the areas of soap, sitcom and children’s TV.
The preview and Q&A will take place at the campus from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
