Saved theme park reopens
A popular Lancashire theme park ropens its gates again on Saturday - less than two months after looking doomed.
Camelot at Charnock Richard near Chorley launches its summer season several weeks later than scheduled after a last-minute buy-out secured its immediate future.
Carlise-based firm The Story Group bought the 140-acre attraction and leased it to newly-formed Knights Leisure after previous owners Prime Resorts had called in the receivers.
The long-term future of the theme park remains uncertain as talks are under way to possibly build a major mixed housing development on the site of the theme park.
However, Richard Timson, who plays King Arthur in the park's medieval events, says he is simply relieved that the show will go on.
"I think it is a massive relief for everybody at Camelot that we have made it this far and we can now look forward to a fantastic season," he said.
The park is open until September 6. More details can be found at www.camelotthemepark.co.uk
