Starsailor man’s world premiere
movie star: James Walsh
The world premiere of new rock movie, Powder, for which Chorley-born rockstar James Walsh wrote the soundtrack, is to take place at Liverpool Sound City Festival in May.
The film is adapted from the book by Liverpool author Kevin Sampson, who was rumoured to have based the central character on Walsh’s life in Starsailor.
Although the musician has said he does not think he is the central inspiration, he wrote and recorded the soundtrack - his first movie venture.
Starring Awaydays actor Liam Boyle and filmed at major rock festivals in the UK, Ibiza and Spain, Powder will be screening for one night only at FACT, Seel Street, on Thursday May 19, prior to its general release in the autumn.
