Dance DJ to star at biker fest

This dance music DJ has been booked to play for thousands of rockers at one of Europe’s biggest biker festivals.

At night, Farmers Guardian web and production assistant Tom Waddington becomes a fast rising dance DJ, known as The Supersonic Army.

Despite the fact that he is just 22 and began playing live only two years ago, he’s already supported dance music pioneers Utah Saints and often works with Britain’s top Prodigy tribute band, Jilted Generation.

But now he’s set for one of his strangest gigs ever after the Bulldog Bash’s promoter saw him play at a gig in a Grimsby biker pub and booked him on the spot.

He is set to headline the festival’s new dance music tent and says he’s excited to be playing to such a different audience.

He is influenced by bands like the Prodigy and says his music should go down well.

Tom, who works at the Fulwood offices of the Guardian, said: “The promoter actually just saw the soundcheck and said, ‘Do you want to play our dance tent?’ He didn’t even see the gig but he still wanted to book me’.

“Obviously I play dance music so for me to be playing at the Bulldog Bash is a bit of a departure really.

“This year, Status Quo are there and a few other big names – and I’m headlining the first night in their dance tent.

“They’ve had a dance tent there before but not last year.

“But they are bringing it back this year and I’m really looking forward to playing for them.”
