A hairdresser from Preston had a brush with fame when she found herself styling the fashion world’s model of the moment.
Shruty Stephenson, owner of Scream Hair Salon on Linden Drive, Lostock Hall, travelled to the Capital to join the army of hairdressers, stylists and designers tasked with creating the many looks for London Fashion Week.
And after working on shows for House of Holland and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Shruty headed over to Regent’s University to work on the Topshop Unique collection where a late arrival caused a stir.
The married, mum-of-two said: “The call time was 12pm, for the show to start at 3.30pm.
“Models were arriving at different times, as they were arriving from different shows.
“Everything was running smoothly, and then at the very last minute, ten minutes before the show was about to start, Cara Delevingne arrived from the Mullberry show.”
Shruty and three other worked on the “It” girl of the moment, before Cara, was watched by fashion royalty such as Kate Moss, Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour and Topshop CEO, Philip Green, as she sashayed down the runway.
Shruty, who has worked at London Fashion Week for the past six years said; “Cara was so lovely; very friendly and was happy to have her picture taken.
“She said she didn’t mind about the pulling and tugging of her as we frantically got her runway ready and was a very down to earth girl.
“My favourite shows have to be House of Holland, as I met Harry Styles of One Direction and Kelly Osbourne.
“And of course, Topshop as I got to meet Cara.
“Now it’s back to the salon, until next season!”
