We wanna be three

An amazing supergroup of musicians who have played in Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, The Style Council, The Who and many more, is to perform at Preston's tiny Mad Ferret pub.
Trio Valore, who play at the Ferret on October 17, are a three-piece whose members have looked out from some of the world's greatest stages and recorded alongside some of the world's greatest artists.
They are bass player Damon Minchella, founder member of Ocean Colour Scene, drummer Steve White, who was in Style Council and filled in for his brother Alan with his band Oasis, on their American tour, and top session keyboardist Seamus Beaghen.
They are a band with a truly stellar history. Besides his time in OCS, Damon has played with Paul Weller, Racine, The Who, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page and Dr John.
Steve White was in The Style Council, in punk legend Ian Dury's Jazz Renegades, Working Week, Galliano, The Young Disciples and The James Taylor Quartet.
He has also been Paul Weller's drummer for the past 24 years and, as well as his stint with Oasis, he also played Live 8 alongside his Damon with legendary rock group, The Who.
In a bizarre twist of fate, he was drafted in to this legendary gig after The Who's then drummer, Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey, left suddenly to join – Oasis.
Steve, Damon and Style Council's Mick Talbot formed the Players. The gig at the Ferret follows a drum clinic he gave there in February this year.
Top session musician Seamus Beaghen has played with more greats than either of his bandmates, listing Desmond Dekker, Madness, Iggy Pop, Barry Adamson and Morrissey among his former clients.
He has also played with Jack Dee, Alison Moyet, Tom Jones, Mica Paris, David Gray, Death In Vegas, The Grid, Luke Haines, Paul Weller, Supergrass, Alabama 3, Dr. Robert and P.P. Arnold, Charles "Sweets" Sherrel and Babyshambles – the list is endless.
Together the band release their first autonomous album, Return of the Iron Monkey, this autumn and their Mad Ferret gig is a showcase to promote it, part of a national tour of small intimate venues. Thanks to the amazing pedigrees of the members, Trio Valore already has a huge amount of media interest and a big fan base and their arrival here is a big coup for the Fylde Road music pub.
The new Trio Valore album, Return of the Iron Monkey, is out in October and will be available from Action Records.
Tickets for the event will be available directly from Mad Ferret, Action Records, in Church Street, Preston, on 01772 258809, or online at www.lancashiretickets.com, priced £10. To listen to Trio Valore go to www.myspace.com/triovaloreinc.
