Naomi Smith takes a look at who is playing where in amateur theatres around the region...
Vicki Forrester is staging An Evening Of Alternative Musical Theatre at Chorley Little Theatre in Dole Street.
The cabaret-style show features young singers and musicians from the North West, performing songs from new and 'off-Broadway' musicals.
The event will promote local writers James Eccleshare (writer and performer) and Penny Nicholls (singer/songwriter), whose work is being performed.
The show is on Thursday, August 28, curtain up 7.45pm. Tickets are £10 and include a drink on arrival, available from Malcolm's Musicland, Chapel Street, Chorley, or call 01257 264362.

Lytham Amateur Operatic Society presents Cole Porter's High Society, featuring songs such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, from August 19-23 at the Lowther Pavilion Theatre, Lytham.
Curtain up is 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday. Tickets £6-£11.
