In 1984, an IRA bomb in the Grand Hotel, Brighton – designed to assasinate Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and many of her colleagues – killed five people and injured dozens. Sixteen years later Jo Berry, the daughter of one of the victims, met her father's killer, Patrick Magee, for the first time. The Bomb is based on the meeting between them.
The production at The Dukes theatre, Lancaster, will also be the first 'indoors' by the Dukes new artistic director Joe Sumsion, as well as the first in the theatre's re-designed studio space, now re-named The Round.

It is recommended for audiences over 14, opens on Thursday, October 9 and runs until October 25.
