More than 100 young fans turned out to meet former X-Factor contestant Chico as he arrived in Preston as part of a whirlwind UK tour.
The 36-year-old, who appeared on X-Factor two years ago, was promoting his new single – and trying to break a world record.

He was attempting to perform in 10 towns and cities in under 14 hours in raise awareness of Beat, the UK's biggest eating disorder charity.

It was part of the entertainer's drive to ban "size zero" models from the catwalks.

New track Curvy Cola Bottle Body, which he performed in Preston, is named in honour of the campaign.

He performed two songs on the back of an Eddie Stobart van at Preston's Deepdale Retail Park during his half hour appearance. And speaking to the Lancashire Evening Post before the mini-gig, he said he was astonished by the support he had received.

He said: "It's been amazing, I'm really grateful they all turned up so early. People have been supporting it and it's great.

"Even people on the motorway have been beeping their horns."
