Lancashire's unsung heroes were honoured in style at the fourth Red Rose Heroes awards.
Winners in seven categories were treated to a glitzy ceremony at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool along with over 400 guests.

X-Factor winner Shayne Ward provided the main entertainment of the evening as awards were handed out to people including parent and teacher of the year.

Girl band Diamond - which includes Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson - performed a Dreamgirls-inspired set whilst guests enjoyed a champagne reception.

The winner of the main category of the night was Dr Elaine Young, who was nominated for her tireless work at the Rosemere Cancer Unit at Royal Preston Hospital.

The awards are run by the Lancashire Evening Post, Rock FM, Magic 999 and BBC Radio Lancashire and were made possible by sponsors Barclays.

See Monday's Lancashire Evening Post for more pictures and reaction from the winners and visit lep.co.uk to watch videos from the night and tributes to the winners and nominees.
