Aladdin ditched his flying carpet for a helicopter to promote this year's star-studded panto in Preston, Lancashire.
It promises to be a show to remember, with top names set to keep audiences rolling into the city's Charter Theatre.

In a modern twist the stars donned their costumes for the official lift-off at Blackpool Airport.

Presenter Paul Crone from Granada Reports has switched his dame costume from last year's Jack and The Beanstalk for the floating arabic robes of the Sultan.

Blue Peter's Tim Vincent plays 'wicked' Abanazar on his Preston stage debut, while ex-Corrie actress Casey-Lee Jolleys falls for his charms as the beautiful princess.

Wendy McCartney, managing director at Blackpool helicentre, welcomed the cast at yesterday's event.

She said: "They wanted a helicopter for the photo shoot and I think it just fell into place."

Aladdin is at the Charter Theatre from December 1 to January 4.

Group discounts are available, plus children and family tickets at reduced rates.

To book call the box office on 01772 258858.

Reminds me of the "Porridge" film with Ronnie Barker, where they play a football match for charity against a team of "celebrities", the only one on tele was a weather forecaster from Anglia tv ! Star studded?????
