A SEASIDE-themed exhibition with a giant suitcase you can sit inside is being held at the Edge Gallery in Lancaster.
The huge 8ft by 6ft suitcase has been kitted out inside with 50s beach
paraphernalia and has been loaned to the gallery by Paul Kondras – a Lancaster based designer – for the length of the exhibition.

Paul has also created a show case of films to watch that reflect the
seaside theme, with one filmed very recently at the 'Tutti Frutti Festival' in Morecambe.

It features Kate Drummond's Sun Set Ices 50s ice-cream van and another of the films is a home film of a traditional summer family holiday at the beach.

These films are fitted into existing vintage suitcases to be viewed in a unique way.

Gallery owner Ian Jones said: "It is fantastic to have such a large piece in the gallery, the biggest we have ever exhibited before.

"This summer we really wanted to show work that reflected our beautiful coastline and hope that many visitors coming to Morecambe and Lancaster during the holidays will enjoy the theme of the exhibition too.

"Children visiting the exhibition have really loved the experience."
The exhibition runs until August 23, opening between 10am and 5pm Tuesday to Saturday.

The Edge Gallery is from 20 to 22 King St, Lancaster.
