Around 750 pupils have been sent home from a Lancashire school following the discovery of a fractured water main.
The faulty main was found during building work on the new music block at Penwortham Girls High School on Wednesday.

It meant the Cop Lane school was left with no water and pupils were sent home at 2pm.

Headteacher Joan Fitzgibbon said: "It is in the process of being sorted out now and everyone will be back in on Thursday morning."
