Teenager takes part in Elvis Presley 5k run in Memphis

An enthusiastic runner from Penwortham has taken part in a charity run in America.
Teenager Rebecca Wearden completed the Elvis Presley 5k run in Memphis Tennessee earlier this month.
Rebecca, a care worker at Lostock Lodge Care Home in Lostock Hall took part in the charity run to raise money for Livitup, Inc
The 17-year-old took part in the run with her boyfriend, Jack Roughley, 19.
The pair were racing alongside thousands of people.
Rebecca came ninth in the 15-19-year-olds age group and Jack came 20th.
Rebecca who attended All Hallows Catholic High School, said: “It was very hot. There was quite a lot of people who took part in.
“There were over 2,000 people there.
“I did it in 39 minutes.
“It was something really good to take part in and raise money.”
Rebecca raised $80 for the charity.
The pair took part in the run whilst on holiday with Rebecca’s dad, Stephen.
The teenagers completed the run wearing their Preston North End football tops.
Livitup, Inc is an America charity, it aims to advance the independence and productivity of children and adults with various types of disabilities.
