IT could be you: Residents can send their photos to Chorley Council

Your photographs of one of Lancashire’s top market towns could be seen by thousands.

Chorley Council is looking to showcase the talents of local photographic enthusiasts from the website FlickR by using some of the best images to help promote the borough.

A special group has been set up on the photo-sharing site for people to upload their photos and the council will use some of them for publications, as well as other documents containing council information.

Coun Peter Goldsworthy, leader of Chorley Council, said: “Chorley is a beautiful borough and is an ideal place to hone photographic skills.

“We often see fantastic photos of the council’s parks and open spaces taken by local residents and we want to capture those and use them when we are providing information to residents.

“We are always on the look out for images that portray the best of Chorley and, whether that’s landscapes, wildlife or people shots, we’d love to see how other people see Chorley through the camera lens.”
